Uahoo Uahoo, a warden at Etosha National Park in northern Namibia, stands in the back of his truck with his typical day’s worth of food and observes a herd of springbok. (From the book What I Eat: Around the World in 80 Diets.) The caloric value of his typical day’s worth of food in March was 4300 kcals. He is 31 years of age; 5 feet, 10.5 inches tall; and 178 pounds. Uahoo’s love of the outdoors began in his youth, growing up near Waterberg National Park, 225 miles south of Etosha. Seeing conservationists and tourists passing by the cattle breeding station where his father was employed piqued his interest. He began working with an entomologist while on school holidays, and he ran an environmental club in school. After completing a degree in natural resource management, he landed a job as one of only seven wardens in Etosha National Park, which is the size of New Jersey. Uahoo is now completing a master’s degree online. MODEL RELEASED.
